Green Banana roaches also known as the Cuban cockroach are a beautiful shade of green when adults. The nymphs (juveniles) are brown and look similar to a small Dubia roach.
Adults can climb and fly so they must be housed in a screen-top container. They are not considered a pest because they infest banana trees in the wild and do not readily reproduce indoors.
Females grow to just under 1" long, while adult males are smaller at 0.5".
The nymphs will burrow into your substrate.
They grow quickly if kept between 85 and 90° but need at least 80% humidity. A good substrate (coco coir, leaf litter etc.) with isopods or springtails keeps your enclosure moist and sweet smelling. Rehydrated water crystals mixed into the bedding will help increase humidity.
They will eat bananas, apples, grated carrots, and Repashy Banana Cream Pie (cook into a gel).
