CARE AND STORAGE
Keep refrigerated for longer storage.
Jumbo Redworms can tolerate a wide range of temperatures compared to other earthworms. E. hortensis optimum temperatures are between 60 and 70° F (15 - 21 C) but they will tolerate temperatures from 45 to 80° F (7 - 26C). When temperatures drop below 45° F they will need to be held for pickup or require a heat pack.
Upon arrival remove the lid to allow fresh air into the cup and add a few drops of water if needed to keep the bedding moist. Red worms breathe through their skin which must be moist at all times.
